I can't even.

How on earth am I going to see this movie in theaters when I can't even get through a one minute trailer without getting all kinds of excited??? I don't know if you've seen the video of Kristen Bell getting a sloth, because that's basically going to be me at the movie. I guess I will have to lose all my inhibitions come march 23rd...or sit in the back of the theater so no one can see me fangirl and cry and stuff.

So, have you guys read The Hunger Games yet? What do you think of the second trailer? Let me know!
May the odds be ever in your favor!!!!!!!!!!!!

Drugstore Finds: Maybelline - Dream Bouncy Blush

Hello everyone! I just wanted to pop in and give a small review on a product I found recently from Maybelline, called 'Dream Bouncy Blush' (currently available in 10 shades).
The shade I'm featuring is Pink Frosting.
Now, I'm a pretty big fan of Maybelline, most of the things I buy from them turn out to be some of my favorite products, and of course it's super affordable. This is no exception. It's a lightweight cream blush that wears a bit more like a powder, it gives good color, but at the same time it looks very natural, which is what I look for in an everyday product like this. I would say that for a cream blush, it is not going to make you look dewy, like some do. Instead it gives you a nice glow, I really like that.
To apply, I use my fingers, and since its more spongy and less mousse-y, make sure you don't dig into the product or try to scoop it out, instead just lightly sweep your finger across to pick up the color and apply to your cheeks like you would any other cream blush. Easy as pie.

My only negative is that it does not last very long, after about 3-4 hours I couldn't even see the blush at all. Although it is nice and portable, so if you wanted to carry it in your bag to reapply you could without taking up much space. Over all I give this product 4 out of 5 stars.
Let me know if you have tried this product, and what you think in the comments! Hope everyone's having a good day! XO Livy

Sunday, January 29, 2012

Hi everyone! This week has been a super busy one, we have been cleaning out the attic most of the week, we celebrated my brothers birthday on Thursday, my grandparents came Friday and stayed for the weekend, and last night I helped my friend Elysa (along with my friends Jess and Lexi) make a ton of tissue paper flowers for her upcoming wedding in February, after we finished up, we rewarded ourselves with some really good mexican food and margaritas. Yum! Anyway, I am excited to share my Sunday Favorites! I found a lot of inspiration on the interwebs this week!

Paul & Joe's Spring 2012 collection looks so amazing. I am super excited! And look at all those kitties!!

This conversation heart illustration by Sirin Thada is perfect for Valentines Day!

I can't get over how much I want this couch! It's so very Audrey-esque! If I owned it I would definitely have a cat without a name and sing moon river out on the balcony. just saying.

This Love sculpture by Justine Smith is made out of US quarters. I think that it looks so pretty, and sparkly, and amazing. I want to try to make a version of this for myself.

THESE DRESSES! They are made out of maps by Annex. And I absolutely love them. Especially the Paris one.

This photo is so intriguing to me. I love the colors and style.

I need this Mr. T teacup because of reasons!

Well, I hope everyone had a great weekend! I think I'm going to grab a book and some coffee and sit by the fire. Sounds good to me! XO Livy

Brenton Wood

Can we just talk about the amazingness that is Brenton Wood? I started listening to him again the other day and there is no doubt in my mind that he is my favorite soul singer. I could listen to his album all day and not get tired of it. My favorite song has to be either 'Gimme A Little Sign' or 'Baby You Got It'.

Hope everyone's having a good day! XO Livy

Mushaboom

Hello! I just thought I would share some pictures of  these mushrooms I found around my yard, I really like how perfect the one below is, it looks like a smurf should live near by.
On another note, today is my brother's birthday (Happy Birthday Justin!) and I think my mom's planning on making some shortbread cookies for him. So that should be really good. I'll try to sneak a few pictures of today. Now I'm off to enjoy my cherry ring pop left over from Elysa's Bridal Shower. (a post about that day is coming soon!) See ya later and may the odds be ever in your favor! XO Livy

Birchbox January 2012

Hey guys, so I finally got my first Birchbox in the mail! Yay! If you aren't familiar with Birchbox, it is a beauty subscription service where you sign up and receive monthly deliveries of high-end beauty samples. And these are not small samples either. They will last me a pretty long time, long enough to decide if I want to commit to the product or not. And that's the beauty of it! (no pun intended) You don't have to waste your money on products that may not work. And we all have been there, you see something in the store and it looks amazing. Until you get home and you regret ever buying it. Or you get a face wash that ends up breaking you out and you look like pepperoni face for weeks. True story. Well no more! Because not only do you get samples of really good products, you can also take a little quiz and they'll send you a few products based off your results. And! Did I mention it only costs $10/month? I personally think it's worth it because sometimes you get full size products in your box. Yep. It's nice. Anyway, I thought it would be fun to show you what I get in my birchbox each month. So here is my very first box. And I am pretty pleased (in case that isn't obvious).
So the first product is C.O. Bigelow Lavender and Peppermint Shampoo and Conditioner. And aside from it smelling good, I didn't really care for it. I have wavy hair that tends to frizz and this just didn't do the trick.

The second product is Jouer Lip Gloss in Birchbox Pink. And I love, love this lip gloss! It goes on so smoothly, and it tints your lips this perfect shade of hot pink and! it's not sticky! Which means no hair getting stuck to your lips! Always a plus. I actually layered it on top of Covergirl's Lip Perfection Lipstick in Fairytale the other day and it looked quite awesome.
The third product Viva La Juicy by Juicy Couture. And it really is nothing new to me, I own a bottle of it already, but I do love the scent, and the sample is perfect to put in my purse.
The fourth product is Zoya Nail Polish in Kristen. This photo really doesn't do the color justice. It's a really beautiful, light periwinkle blue, and it looks so good on! The application isn't too thin or too thick. I really love this polish, and judging by the size of the bottle, I think it will go a long way.
And last, but not least. The fifth product is a Larabar in Blueberry Muffin. I really love that they give you a lifestyle product, and this little bar tasted soooooo good, I actually went to Target the next day to buy some. I couldn't find this specific kind, but I did try the brownie one and it was pretty darn good. I'm still on the search for the blueberry muffin though. (the owl was not included in the box. heh)
And that's all of it. I think it was over all a pretty good box, and it was definitely worth it. I can't wait for my February one to come in the mail! I'm also trying out another thing like this called Glambag, it should come in February too. So I'll do a little comparison between the two when I get them both.
Hope you all are having a great day! XO Livy
